Planter boxes and a few other things

It feels like it has been forever since I have shown you anything I have made. So here is a little update on the crafty side.

My favorite thing Dallin actually made. I love it when helps me on projects, especially ones like these.
Ever since we bought our house we really wanted to make the outside of it look better. If you don't remember what it looked like here is a little reminder
Keep in mind this is already with a new roof, which helped a lot

Since then we have replaced the garage door and re-stained the cedar. The next thing on the list was to add planter boxes. This is where Dallin comes in. We headed to Home Depot and with about $8 of wood, a little over an hour, and one amazing husband this is what we had.

It was exactly what I was looking for. Since it will be outside we decided to stain it to protect it a little bit. Then with some dirt and plants this is what you will see when you pull up to our house

I decided to plant the flowers as bulbs (which saved us a lot and we got more) so in a couple weeks these will be filled with flowers.
Don't be surprised if I show you a picture of them when they are

Okay, now on to a few other things. Don't worry I will make this quick. I wanted to make some new Bibs for Benton's birthday. I found a great pattern that was a larger size that worked perfectly.

Goodwill had the tux bib pattern for a few cents so I couldn't resist! He looks so cute in it!

This is a lot of work I am tired.

And hungry.

Last month my friend had a baby shower, and I love to make things for showers. I usually still buy something, but it is almost guaranteed that I will make something first. My current go to gift is burp cloths and bibs that match. I usually make them out of flannel so they are nice and soft. They have some great patterns so I always just made them out of the patterned fabrics. (I lost half of my pictures from February -big frowny face- so these pictures are gone)

However when another friend was having a baby shower a few weeks later I wanted to try something new with the burp cloths and bibs. I appliqued shapes onto them, and it worked. Don't you love it when things actually work?

These might be my new go to gift, there are lots of shapes I want to try!

Okay last thing for now. I have been wanting to make wooden alphabet blocks since before Benton was born, but I didn't really see the point until now. Dallin cut up so wood and I mod podged the paper and letters on and we gave them to him for his birthday. He likes to bang them together, hey that works for me.

So there you have it, some stuff we've made lately. There will always be more to come soon.
