World Forestry Center

The kids and I ventured out of the house to the World Forestry Center today. We have never been before, and we really enjoyed it. Our first stop was this train outside. We loved it and stayed for about 20 minutes checking it out.

The kids liked this white water rafting ride. The screen behind them showed the river and the boat bounced a little bit. They thought it was great!

We loved learning so much about trees. These are the diameters of trees that were 60 years old, 240 years old, and 635 years old. We leaned about the difference in the weight of various types of wood, we saw all the different wood grains, and we learned a lot about forests. How to keep them healthy, how they log them, about smoke jumpers, and so much more. It was very interesting, and also very fun.

Here the kids learned how to plant trees. Or really they just dug. It was a great trip and we're excited to come back!
