Rockaway Beach
With just a week left before Dallin goes back to work we decided to take one last little trip to the beach. We spent the first day in Seaside and met up with some friends. We started out with a carousel ride to everyone's delight. After some delicious ice cream we spent the afternoon playing on the beach.
At 6 we finally headed south to our hotel in Rockaway. Boy was that a mistake! Adalyn fell asleep in the van for 30 minutes and then was awake until 11. The trip was really great, but that night we decided that we were done. It was time to be home and get back to our normal schedule. We both function best when our kids are in bed by 8 and we have a little down time.
The next morning we headed south toward Tillamook and started our day with a little hike. It was only a half mile and super easy for the kids. They even enjoyed a little snack on the way in.
Benton was amazed that he found a leaf bigger than his head!
Emmett found some leafs that made a great mustache!
Once we made it to the top we stopped to enjoy throwing some rocks in the water. Seriously, how many time have I posted about my kids throwing rocks in the water? It never gets old! They love it.
The waterfall was beautiful! You couldn't really get close, but it was lovely.
After our nice hike we had to get a yummy lunch at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. It was a deliciously successful trip.
For our last day we decided to spend as much time playing in the sand as we could. We lasted about 45 minutes, it was a little cold and we've been playing at the beach a lot this summer! Everyone was buried in the sand multiple times. It was a hit.
I sure love these kids and it has been SO great spending so much time with Daddy around too! I know we are ready for life to get back to normal and have our regular schedules, but we are really going to miss having Dallin with us all the time.
